Bermuda

Bermuda is an island located in the Caribbean and north of the Bermuda triangle. The island's cultural background ranges way back to the discovery of the island. According to World Travel Guide's blog, the island was discovered in the early 1500s by a Spanish settler. Although the island was discovered the land wasn't fully colonized until the early 1600s by an English settler. This has a heavy influence on the language of Bermuda as they primarily speak English.

The British soon brought the slave trade to Bermuda and kept slaves up until an uproar began. The slaves revolted from the 17th century till the 18th and it wasn't until 1834 that slavery was completely abolished on the island. Discrimination was very prevalent on the island as Afro-Carribeans still faced many hardships and racism. Surprisingly, when walking the island of Bermuda it's very casual to greet everyone you see, although racism is somewhat normalized.(Source: Virtual Caribbean Library, World Travel Guide) Afro Carribeans incited riots during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Where the white govener was assassinated. Bermuda was offered independence from under British rule but citizens were fearful of becoming completely independent. To this day Bermuda is still under British rule.

However there are a few things that you are supposed to check on; For the topic, make it clear whether you are talking about the history of Bermuda or Bermuda in general. If you just write Bermuda, try to cover the island all round not just the history adding things like the tourist attractions, dishes, or even cultural aspects of the island.
